David & Stephanie's Wedding

The wedding of David Hill and Stephanie King was a really memorable event. They were so relaxed and easy-going, and exuded immense love and joy. This was certainly reflected in the pictures captured on the day. Thank you, David and Stephanie, for the opportunity to tell your story, and for your kind words below.

"We are both extremely pleased with the photographs. An incredibly good job and exceeded our expectation by some margin.

Choosing a photographer for the wedding was very hard because it is such a leap into the dark. It is just a one time thing and so everything has to be got right the first time. Long after the Thank You notes have gone out the photographs (good or bad) remain the lasting record of the event. No pressure!

It is also hard to understand what it is that a photographer will bring to the job as it is part documentary record and part creative expression. Too much 'documentary' and things look dull and static, too much 'creative' and your precious wedding photos begin to look like an art school experiment. I am thrilled that you were able to get such a great balance between the two with so many informal portraits that captured every bit of the fun we were having on our big day. Every time I look at them they make me smile.

I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer myself so I can appreciate the technical challenges the environment presented and I am blown away by many of the shots you produced. My personal hope was to be able to have a small handful of great shots that we could put on the proverbial mantelpiece. We have in fact got dozens!.

Finally, I wanted to thank you for working so incredibly hard on the day. These things take a huge amount of effort to see the opportunities as they appear and being in a position to capture those moments. You managed to do it all while never being intrusive or to take away any of the spontaneity from the day. In fact I think that you managed to join in the spirit of the occasion wonderfully.

I would like to think that anyone looking at the photos will be able to see exactly how well you captured a fantastic day and I hope that they will take the opportunity to get you to tell their story too.
